Cosmetic Dentistry
is part of a multidisciplinary dentistry. The goal of aesthetic dentistry treatment is leading to a natural and healthy appearance of the teeth. This goal is achieved by using the latest techniques and the highest quality materials.
Composite fillings
They are different types of synthetic resins, which are used in dentistry as restorative material or adhesives. The aesthetic of composite restorations are far superior then silver-mercury amalgam restorations. Composite fillings allows doctors to drill the utmost sparingly – it is necessary to remove only carious bearing without further expansion and modification of the cavity. The result is obturation perfectly imitating the color of your teeth and nobody will know that you have a filling. They are also suitable for both anterior and posterior teeth.
Ceramic fillings
Inlay is an indirect restoration (filling) consisting of a solid substance fitted to a cavity in a tooth and cemented into place. This technique involves fabricating the restoration outside of the mouth using the dental impressions of the prepared tooth, rather than placing a soft filling into the prepared tooth before the material sets hard.
Onlay is the same as an inlay, except that it incorporates a replacement for a tooth cusp by covering the area where the missing cusp would be. Crowns are onlays which completely cover all surfaces of a tooth.
Tooth whitening (Dental bleaching)
is a common procedure in general dentistry. Tooth whitening has become one of the most requested procedure in cosmetic dentistry today. Most common bleaching methods use carbamide peroxide, which reacts with water to form hydrogen peroxide. The peroxide oxidizing agent penetrates the porosities in the rod-like crystal structure of enamel and breaks down stain deposits in the dentin. Power bleaching uses light to accelerate the process of bleaching in a dental office. Many studies proved that whitening is safe, when teeth and gums are healthy. It must be performed under the medical supervision. Before any teeth whitening it is highly recommended to perform entire oral cavity examination and to treat all defects, poor fillings and remove tartar from the tooth surface. Only then one can start with teeth whitening.
The teeth whitening could be performed at home or in a dental office. In our practice we recommend home whitening, because according our considerations it is mild and longer lasting.
Home whitening is carried out using a gel and transparent plastic trays. Application takes a few hours per day (totaly 7 to 14 days initial) and brings the desired whiteness to your healty smile.
